The La Concha Crowne Plaza Hotel was built in 1924 and originally had seven floors. At the time, it was the tallest building in Key West. In 1983, a waiter fell to his death in an elevator shaft when the door opened accidently with the elevator on the floor above him.

Today, guests have reported hearing screaming in the elevator followed by the crash of dishes. Was the crash from the cart that followed the waiter down when he fell?
