The town of Celebration, Florida was built in 1996. The land was owned by Disney and sits just to the South of Walt Disney World at the end of a main road that takes you right to the Magic Kingdom in the other direction. At one end of the community, an exit from I-4 to Main Gate Road abruptly comes to an end at the edge of a large retention pond. in 1998, there was no warning to cars coming off the Interstate at sixty miles an hour that a deep pond was directly in front of them. If you thought you were headed to Disney and took a wrong turn, you would quickly find yourself at the bottom of a pond.

Apparently, this is exactly what happened to numerous drivers who were missing for months before being discovered. The most famous case involved three men vacationing in Florida who were missing in an SUV that was later found in the pond. While pulling the SUV out, authorities discovered other missing cars stacked one on top of each other.

Today, there is a large wall and flashing warning lights to keep drivers out of the pond. Behind the pond, a bike path winds into the woods back toward the town of Celebration. Residents on their bikes have reported hearing loud splashing noises through the woods as well as seeing unexplained bubbles in the pond as if a heavy object had just fallen in.
